Path Keeper Scheme
Published: 19 December 2024
A meeting will be held on the 14th of January at 7.30 pm in Green Hammerton Village Hall with North Yorkshire Council to launch the Path Keeper Scheme.
The Path Keeper scheme has been developed to create closer working partnerships between North Yorkshire Council and local groups with a keen interest in maintaining their local paths.
The scheme gives groups such as yours permission to carry out basic maintenance tasks on the Rights of Way network in your area, such as cutting back vegetation from around stiles, gates and signposts; and basic repairs to bridges for example. The scheme also gives scope for groups to raise funds for improvement works or larger projects along their adopted routes, such as replacing stiles with gates, or resurfacing paths.
Signing up to the scheme allows us to keep a record of the great work you’re doing, and helps us work more closely together. It also allows you to be covered by our insurance.
